I felt this deserved a much needed post. You hear all the top goldmakers telling readers that they're stockpiling [item] and they have # amount. At first I personally thought 'I'm never going to be able to compete with those guys', but it's possibly to get a decent stockpile of different sorts of goods to get ready for future patches.
There was much speculation that epic gems would become prospectable from Pyrite ore in the 4.1 patch. I didn't believe it though and refused to stockpile the ore, 1. because it was 200g a stack, and 2. because I simply didn't think epic gems would come.
Pyrite ore is currently around 160g a stack on my server, I never buy at the market price, because it's so expensive and I don't have infinite gold :). Instead, I frequently use the mobile armory or auctionator to find cheap pyrite ore. I've done this for about 2 weeks and have abut 14 stacks worth from 2g per ore to 5g per ore. I won't be touching any of them until epic gems arrive. Now just think how much of an advantage I will have over competitors:
1. I will be able to undercut massively when the gems arrive because this stockpile has been developed over time and is only costing around 200g (even less!) per day.
2. I'll have a stockpile and others wont.
3. I'll be making a killing!
I also did this with Volatile Lifes, but not over a period of time, it was pure luck actually: . . .
One night just before I logged off somebody was barking to sell 30k volatile lifes, I asked him how did he get them all. He said he bought them on his old server and transferred to get the gold on my server; made sense. I bought as many as I could for 4g each. Currently Volatile Airs are fluctuating to about 28g tops, and 20g floor price. I am in absolutely no rush to sell them so I put a threshold of 25g each on TSM and if the market on the day isn't above 25g I still do the transmute(I sometimes get a nice proc), and when the market is above 25g my volatiles sell straight away. It's an insane profit of just over 500%! On top of that, any procs for volatile fires I get I am stockpiling and waiting for firelands patch to arrive. This way I am making gold right there + some more!
Hope you liked this post.

Managing your professions equally
Do you ever see yourself concentrating too much time onto one profession and not getting the desired amount of gold back, or a mailbox full of expired? I do. All the time. Why? There is a limit to how much gold you can potentially make from one profession in a certain amount of time at that certain time of the day.
The trick is finding out what that limit is. For me it was a matter of trial and error and knowledge of the market; some items sell faster then others and in different quantities. e.g. Volatiles fly right off the shelves on my server, but flasks not so much. From this I understand how much gold I can make from Alchemy, my main profession.
My other main gold making profession is Jewelcrafting, recently there has been a crash in the ore market on my server where farmers are dumping stacks of elementium ore at 20g a stack. With on average 1 rare gem a stack, I can cut it(even if it's an Amberjewel), get my money back & use the green uncuts for the JC daily and any other green uncuts left can be mailed to my Alchemist to transmute into shadowspirits or Inferno's! This transmute ultimately raises the max gold profit from each profession by combining the two together. Last night I made 3,000 gold from this simple shuffle alone, and that's relatively good for me.
Other plans to manage professions better
Ultimately my next goal is to get a maxed enchanter & blacksmith so I can DE any jewelry for more gold. See the trend? Each profession has a max profit you can make in an allotted time, combine them together and you can raise is tenfold!
Thanks for reading todays post.

AGK - The Glass Seiling
This is generally a message saying who I am and what this blog is and will be about.
My name is Daniel, I currently go by the name of Artose on the Aerie Peak(EU) server. I've played wow about 3 years off and on but now I play full time around my current job as a web designer. Imo I'm pretty trash at gold making, which is really why I've made this blog; to try and help me get better. I know there are other players in the same predicament of breaking the 'glass seiling' as I call it. We can see all the mega rich players above it, but we can't get there ourselves.
My current wow experience
I am guild master of the guild 'Profanity' on Aerie Peak(EU), alliance side.
I am also raid leader for the guild.
I play resto druid which I thoroughly enjoy.
I've used the auction house for a little over 18 months casually until I came across a website called http://www.justmytwocopper.org/. The guy who owns it goes by the name of Markco and is the main guy in gold making on world of warcraft. Since then I gradually became most interested and involved with the Auction House and I am now really pushing to make a lot of gold.
I currently have a job as a web designer which means I only have limited playing time during the week (6:00 - 10:30) and I am usually busy most weekends. On top of raiding this means I can't use as much time as I would like levelling alts to give professions to so I can make more gold on the AH, instead I must make do with what I currently have. So I have some players can relate with this.
I hope to see people reading my posts in the future.
